Get to know the SportsTech startups of SportUp Boost 2022!

Two creative SportsTech startups entered this years' SportUp Boost. The first edition of 2022 started in March and we have chosen to do a hybrid version of the program. Over the past four months, the startups got access to videos about the main learning topics: problem space, solution space, business model innovation, digital marketing, financial model and the art of pitching. Every two weeks, there was a new video available about a new topic of interest, with matching exercises.

So, the startups were taking an exciting, busy and challenging path here, but they didn't have to do it all alone. They had the great guidance of our innovation managers, Bruno D'Hulster, Nico Delleman and Kristof De Mey. At the end of every 2 weeks, there was a personal coaching moment in order to allow for 1 on 1 conversations. This happened in person or online, depending on the preferences and possibilities of the startup/coach. The key goal for the startup was to evaluate the feasibility of their startup & define the best possible strategic actions for each of the projects.

SportUp Boost is the first step for early-stage sport startups within our program. We support these two new startups on their way to turning their idea and/or prototype into a commercial opportunity. Our support is offered during a period of 3-4 months (but of course we keep contact after that) with essential startup workshops and personal mentoring. The program has to prepare the startups to apply for imec.istart.

Digital Padel Scoring System
👉 A plug & play digital scoreboard for padel.
The scoreboard will have an attractive design including sponsor visibility. A web application will allow the club to communicate with its members through the scoreboard in a user-friendly way. Where can you meet the startups?

At our next SportUp Meet the startups will pitch their ventures for you and they will focus on their lessons learned during SportUp Boost. During this night, you'll also be inspired by new innovations in the sports world, great keynote speakers from Eqipa (Simon Van Gorp & Michael Tandecki) and of course the exciting pitches by our other SportUp entrepreneurs. Not only from our Boost edition but also from our SportUp Start track guided bij imec.istart. Finally, you will also be informed about our experiences during the last 4 years of SportUp, our main lessons learned and what the future will or should bring.
